Gianni Bergamaschi

Born in San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy) in 1954, Gianni Begamaschi is a semiologist, Italian teacher in a secondary school, researcher, jazz guitarist.
He studied with Joe Diorio and took his degree in History of Music with the semiologist Gino Stefani. In the early 80's he met different musicians in the area of Brescia and Bergamo, where he moved to teach. In 1995 he recorded Sunny, his first Cd (New Age) with the percussion Gaspare Bonafede.
Later, he formed Gianni Bergamaschi Trio with the drum Sergio Mazzei and the bass Mauro Sereno; they performed together in many local clubs.
He experimented the relationships between literature and music taking part to some Literary Festivals.
In 1997 he joined the Gruppo Musicale Effatà from Sarnico (Bergamo) and he recorded with them in 1999 Navidad en Verano based on Ramirez music and some of his own pieces, and in 2005 Witness (Jazz, Blues, Gospel).
