Offset was born in Mantua as a trio in 2010, the year in which the guitarist Marcello Abate began to collaborate with the drummer Federico Negri and the double bass player Davide Paulis.
The trio experiments with different sound solutions, while remaining faithful to the tradition of jazz standards.
In 2016 the musicians of the trio met the saxophonist Manuel Caliumi at the Nuoro Jazz workshops.
The desire to propose original music prompted the members to a change: the trio, which has become a quartet, will begin to propose only original compositions.
In the following years Offset had the opportunity to perform in important italian jazz festivals and clubs. The project also reached the final in national contests such as: the Stefano Cerri competition, Marco Tamburini competition and Conad Jazz contests.
At the end of 2018, the desire for a constant stylistic renewal pushed the members to introduce the vibraphonist Giovanni Perin.
